How can I get an Operator's Manual?

An operator's manual may be downloaded or printed directly from the LCT website. It can also be obtained by calling LCT at 877-274-2214. Please have the engine model number available.

How do I find out what model engine I have?

The engine model number is engraved into the engine block on the flat side opposite the cylinder. The model number will start with a ‘PLMH’, ‘LMH’, or ‘LDH’. The model number is the first two of three lines of information in this area. This information is essential when requiring service or requesting parts information.

Can I get parts factory direct?

LCT does not sell parts directly to the public. To obtain parts, it will be necessary to contact a local dealer. Please call Lauson Power Products at 1-800-558-5402.


How can I find replacement part information for my engine?

It will be necessary to determine the model number of your engine. Then contact your local authorized LCT servicing dealer.

What type of fuel goes in my engine?

Engine fuel requirements are located in the engine Operator’s Manual. LCT engines require the use of unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher. E-85 cannot be used in LCT engines.

What type of oil goes in my engine and how much?

Engine oil recommendations are located in the engine Operator’s Manual. LCT recommends using a high quality 4-stroke automotive detergent oil. The oil should be checked before each engine use and changed after the initial break-in period of 20 hours Regular oil changes should occur every 40 hours or 6 months of operation, whichever comes first.

Can I use synthetic oil in my LCT engine?

Yes, you can.

What type of spark plug goes in my engine?

The correct spark plug information can be obtained by contacting your local authorized LCT servicing dealer or referenced in the operator’s manual.  The recommended spark plug for use in all LCT engines is Torch Plug F6RTC.

What should I do when storing my engine?

Short-term storage:
  • Remove debris from the engine to facilitate adequate cooling, correct engine speed, and reduce the risk of excessive heat buildup.
  • To avoid stale gas and carburetor problems, treat fuel with Ultra-Fresh or other fuel stabilizer. Add according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • After adding stabilizer, run engine for 10 minutes outdoors and away from sources of ignition to allow fuel to reach the carburetor.
Long-term storage:
  • Remove debris from the engine to facilitate adequate cooling, correct engine speed, and reduce the risk of excessive heat buildup.
  • Empty fuel tank by running engine outdoors until it stops. WARNING: NEVER leave engine unattended when it is running, and NEVER run engine in enclosed areas.
  • Lubricate cylinder bore to avoid corrosion

What is the warranty on an LCT engine?

A warranty statement is incorporated in the engine Operator’s Manual. Essentially, the LCT warranty covers defects in material and/or workmanship. A purchase receipt is required for all warranty claims.

First, locate the engine’s model number. Then visit the Lauson Power Products website and select your engine from the list of exploded diagrams under LCT.  You can also view exploded diagrams under the service link on the LCT website.
